Image
Good Day, Lock 7 by Dean Serravalle An insightful glance into the life of a gangster having countryside origin. Summary: Leo Meurso, a gangster double-crosses dangerous man that he should have not meddled with in the wrong way. Knowing his death is imminent, he returns to his home town after 20 years to make his peace. In a series of events he meets the town fool, old friends and enemies, crashes the wedding of his ex-girlfriend and much more. What will end first, life or purpose? Review: The best thing about this book, in my opinion, is the metaphor the author has so tastefully used. I have had immense pleasure reading the story of a character who is highly observant about the things around him, yet is totally indifferent to the circumstances he is in. This creates a tension that takes the reader along in search of its resolution. The author is also exceptionally good at introducing new characters organically. At some point, the reader may feel that the si

Good Day, The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger It is a story of a teenage boy who craves simply for companion, yet is hapless due to the complexity of his thinking which is engendered due to his angst against the superficiality of the society.   Summary: The whole story is narrated by 17 year old Holden Caulfield on the incidents which take place in his life when he was 16. It starts from him being suspended from Pency Prep in Pennsylvania as he is not applying himself in the studies and manages to flunk all the subjects except English. He leaves his hostel and plans to spend Christmas in New York City all by himself. Here he has a lot of distinct experiences ranging from fairly positive to disastrous. Will Holden be able to adjust himself in this world which is filled with superficiality and get rid of the feeling of alienation? Review: Writing style of author is very simple, you get a strong taste of language used in New York in 1950's. City has b
